Google confirms August event for upcoming Pixel series
The brand teases candy bar phones, and rumors suggest several new models and wearables will be announced.
Google has confirmed that it will announce new Pixel devices on August 12, sending out invites to the media for an event that will take place in New York City and will begin at 6 p.m. ET.
The animated teaser accompanying the invite shows angles of mobile handsets with gold frames, giving a tiny peek of what the series, likely the Pixel 11, will look like. While many details have been revealed prior to launch, Google has yet to confirm any information on its own.

In recent years, Google has taken the route of showcasing renders of its upcoming devices, beating leakers to the punch, showcasing new designs and colorways. However, this year the brand appears to be much more secretive with its lineup. Leaving a lot of guesswork up to leakers, but still keeping a lot of its hardware, software, and design details under wraps.
The series of devices is expected to include the Pixel 11, the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The foldable in particular would launch during a time when Apple is set to announce its inaugural foldable iPhone, and Samsung is expected to make updates to its foldable line.
Google will also likely announce a generation of wearables, in the Pixel Watch 5 series and Pixel Buds Pro. Overall, the teaser’s tagline, “next generation of Pixel,” suggests the brand has significant updates to unveil.
Among rumors, there is a consensus that Google may shift the base models to 256GB, retiring the minimum 128GB option. However, this storage jump is expected to come with a price increase as well amid the memory shortages in the industry. Of course, the smartphones will release running the latest Android 17 software, which was released to the public in mid-June.
The evening launch event has many wondering whether Google will opt to have a popular host lead the launch once again, as it did with the Pixel 10 launch in 2025 with Jimmy Fallon. He unveiled the devices to a live studio audience. Much like with the details of the Pixel 11 series, we will just have to wait until August 12 to find out.
