Everything to know about PlayStation 5 preorder, price, availability, and release date
Sony has announced preorder details for the PlayStation 5, including price, availability, and release date. Here is everything you need to know about purchasing the next-generation console.
Price and release date information for the Sony PlayStation 5 is now official. The next-generation gaming system will be available on November 12, with its Digital Edition selling for $399 and its standard model selling for $499.
The main difference between the two models is that the standard version includes a disc slot and the digital edition does not. The latter would rely on users purchasing all of their games and content in downloadable virtual versions while with the former, users have the option to say, play older disc versions games they already on the console.
PlayStation CEO, Jim Ryan has confirmed that about 99 percent of PlayStation 4 games will be backward compatible with the PlayStation 5, making its library substantially larger than the games that will release in tandem.
Markets including the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea will get the console first, while other markets will begin selling the PlayStation 5 on November 19.

PlayStation 5 preorder drama
Sony originally announced that preorders would open September 17th, but many eager fans quickly discovered that a number of retailers, including GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart, were already accepting preorders on the 16th. Many lamented about crashed servers, broken pages, and sold out notices; however, with just under two months until the console goes on sale, there should be ample time for all of those who want to preorder to confirm their purchase.
