Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Price and Color Leaks Shape an Interesting Galaxy Note Replacement
The Galaxy S21 FE may be priced lower to ensure it remains a fan favorite as Samsung opts out of launching a Galaxy Note model for the second half of 2021.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE price details have now surfaced, indicating that the device may be much less expensive than last year's Galaxy S20 FE, according to reports out of South Korea.
The still unofficial smartphone is potentially set to sell for between 700,000 and 800,000 won ($620 – $720). Meanwhile, the 2020 Galaxy S20 FE sold for 899,900 ($810), a price drop of nearly $100. SamMobile suggests that the lower price could be due to Samsung opting to not release a Galaxy Note model in 2021.
The series was put on hold due to semiconductor and other component constraints brought on by the pandemic. Future Galaxy Note devices are expected to launch once the supply chain is in better standing.
Samsung has also confirmed that it will launch a Fan Edition model for all of its flagship model devices moving forward, SamMobile reports. That may likely mean consumers will see Galaxy S and Galaxy Note Fan Edition models each year in the future.
Meanwhile, Galaxy S21 FE render leaks have surfaced, showing the device in several new color options, including black, white, purple, and olive green. The images were shared to Twitter by famed leakster, Evan Blass. Not much else is known about the colors relative to design of the device, like whether they are glossy or matte, or whether the device are made of glass, metal, or plastic.
Blass did note that while the renders show a device favoring the Galaxy S21 and S21+ in overall design the wall paper is more like that of the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This may just be a random quirk rather than anything of any real importance, but it is an interesting tidbit.
There are few specs rumors circulating for the Galaxy S21 FE currently, suggesting the device may feature 6.4-inch hole punch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, 6GB and 8GB RAM options, 128GB and 256GB internal storage options, a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, fast wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging, and Android 11.
It is also expected to feature a triple rear camera with a 12-megpixel main lens, 12-megaixel ultrawide camera and a 8-megaixel or 12-megaixel telephoto camera, as well as a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Other features may include 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port, in addition to IP68 certification, Samsung Pay, and an under-display fingerprint reader.
While many are anticipating Samsung to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event sometime in August, the launch schedule for the Galaxy S21 FE remains unknown. Currently, most expect the Korean manufacturer to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 at its August event, and some suggest the Galaxy S21 FE may also be unveiled at that event.
