Samsung leak reveals images and spec details close to release date
A leak that appears to be marketing materials gives a close look at Samsung’s upcoming new foldables.
Samsung’s next-generation foldable series will be official next week; however, a new leak in the form of promotional material has surfaced, showing detailed images of what we can expect from the new devices.
The leaked images, sourced by tech informant Evan Blass, coincide with long-standing rumors suggesting the series lineup will include the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a revamped design that is shorter and wider than prior models, with a more compact aspect ratio. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to be the upgrade of prior models, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to be an upgrade of the prior Flip model.
Several specifications have accompanied the images. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is shown in a Lilac color, highlighting its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 50-megapixel wide and ultra-wide dual rear cameras, and 26-hour video battery life.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is shown in a black color, showcasing its triple camera featuring a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 200-megapixel wide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 5,000mAh battery supporting 27 hours of video playback.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is shown in a cherry blossom pink color, previewing a dual rear camera with a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, plus a 10-megapixel front camera and a 4,300 mAh battery.
Having announced its July 22 launch event earlier this month, Samsung also titled the promotional video for the unveiling “A new shape unfolds.” Many consider the video an Easter egg, hinting at the new design for the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
As Samsung’s launch date creeps closer, typically so do more details about the new devices up until the ultimate unveiling. So we are sure to see more image and spec leaks pop up before the big day.
